Sochi Paralympics Days Two & Three

Day two began with the Men's Super G eventing with the first discipline being the visually impaired with Slovakian's Jakub Krako and guide Martin Motyka taking the gold ahead of American's Mark Bathum and guide Cade Yamamoto who secured silver with the bronze going to Canada's Mac Marcoux and guide Robin Femy.

The standing race saw an Austrian 1-2 with Markus Salcher taking the gold and Matthias Lanzinger sealing the silver with Alexey Bugaev (RUS) claiming the bronze while the sitting event saw Japan's Akira Kano take gold ahead of compatriot Taiki Morti in silver medal position with Canada's Caleb Brousseau collecting the bronze with GB's Mick Brennan in tenth.

The first Cross Country events took place with the Men's 15km -Sitting saw a Russian clean sweep with Roman Petushkov taking the gold, Irek Zaripov collecting the silver and Aleksandr Davidovich securing the bronze while in the Women's 12km -Sitting, Lyudmyla Pavelenko (UKR) took the gold with Oksana Masters (USA) collecting the silver with Svetlana Konovalova (RUS) securing the bronze.

It was a good day for the GB Wheelchair Curling team as they bounced back from the opening defeat with back to back wins, the first a 6-4 win over Swden despite being 2-4 down after five ends but a two in end six and singles in the final two ends sealed the win. The second win saw a stunning five stone final end that meant an 8-4 win for GB who had been 4-3 down going into the decisive end.

Day three began with the Women's Super-G eventing with a historic win for GB in the visually impaired as a first ever Paralympic gold for Kelly Gallager and her guide Charlotte Evans was made even better as Jade Etherington and her guide Caroline Powell took the bronze with Russian's Aleksandra Frantceva and her guide Pavel Zabotin taking the silver.

The standing discipline saw a second gold of the games for Marie Bochet (FRA) with her compatriot Solene Jambaque taking the bronze and America's Stephanie Jallen securing the bronze while in the sitting event, GB's Anna Turney narrowly missed out on a medal in fourth with Anna Schaffelhuber claiming her second godl of the games for Germany with Austrian Claudia Loesch collecting the silver and American Laurie Stephens sealing the bronze.

 The Cross Country resumed with the Men's 20km Classic -Standing that saw Russia take gold and bronze with Rushan Minnegulov sealing the win with Vladislav Llekomtcev in third with Finland's Ilkka Tuomisto securing the silver. The visually impaired discipline saw Canada's Brian McKeever and guide Erik Carleton taking the gold with Russia's Stanislav Chokhlaev and guide Maksim Pirogov while Sweden's Zebastian Modin and guide Albin Ackerot collecting the bronze.

The Women's 15km Classic-Standing saw gold for Helen Ripa (SWE) with Iuliia Batenkova taking the bronze and Anna Milenina (RUS) securing the bronze while in the visually impaired event, Russia claimed a 1-2 with Elena Remizova and her guide Natalia Yakimova taking gold and compatriots Mikhalina Lysova and her guide Alexey Ivanov securing the bronze while Yadviha Skorabahatava and her guide Iryna Nafranovich (BLR) taking the bronze.

GB's Wheelchair Curling team made it three wins in a row with a 12-2 demolition of Slovakia to put themselves joint third in the standings and did so with an end to spare despite going 0-2 down after the first end. They levelled at 2-2 before scoring untouched for the next five ends including a four stone sixth end before sealing the win with a two in the seventh end that saw the Slovak's concede.
