Tokyo Paralympics Day Nine (Catch-Up)

Another delayed catch-up this time Day Nine which saw 50 medal events overall.

The Women's Individual Recurve GOLD was won by Zahra Nemati (IRI) after a 6-5 victory over Vincenza Petrilli (ITA) who took SILVER while Chunyan Wu (CHN) collected BRONZE after a 6-2 win over Dorothea Poimenidou (GRE).



The Women's Shot Put F35 GOLD was won by Mariia Pomazan (UKR) as she out-threw Marivana Oliveira da Noriega (BRA) who took SILVER while Anna Luxova (CZE) collected BRONZE

GOLD for Vladyslav Zahrebelnyi (UKR) in the Men's Long Jump T37 as he out-jumped Brian Lionel Impellizzeri (ARG) who took SILVER while Mateus Evangelista Cardoso (BRA) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 47.59s in the Men's 400m T12 as Abdeslam Hili (MAR) won GOLD ahead of Noah Malone (USA) who scooped SILVER while Rouay Jebabli (TUN) crossed for BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD distance of 11.29m in the Women's Shot Put F57 as Safia Djelal (ALG) won GOLD ahead of Mian Xu (CHN) who took SILVER while Eucharia Iyiazi (NGR) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 46.70s in the Men's 400m T13 as Djamil Athmani (ALG) won GOLD ahead of Mohamed Amguoun (MAR) who took SILVER while Johannes Nambala (NAM) crossed for BRONZE

A Paralympic Record distance of 43.16m in the Men's Discus Throw F11 as Alessandro Rodrigo da Silva (BRA) won GOLD ahead of Mahdi Olad (IRI) who scooped SILVER while Oney Tapia (ITA) claimed BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 13.00s in the Women's 100m T37 as Xiaoyan Wen (CHN) won GOLD ahead of Jaleen Roberts (USA) who scooped SILVER while Fenfen Jiang (CHN) crossed for BRONZE

The Women's Long Jump T63 saw a WORLD RECORD distance of 5.28m as Vanessa Low (AUS) won GOLD ahead of Martina Caironi (ITA) who took SILVER while Elena Kratter (SUI) collected BRONZE.

The Men's Discus Throw F64 saw Jeremy Campbell (USA) win GOLD ahead of Ivan Katanusic (CRO) who scooped SILVER while GB's Dan Greaves claimed BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 10.82s in the Men's 100m T11 as Athanasios Ghavelas (Guide- Sotirios Gkaragknis) (GRE) took GOLD ahead of Timothee Adolphe (Guide- Bruno Naprix) (FRA) who scooped SILVER while Dongdong Di (Guide- Jiageng Lian) (CHN) crossed for BRONZE.

GOLD for Omara Durand Elias (Guide- Yuniol Kindelan Vargas) (CUB) in the Women's 100m T12 as she finished ahead of Oksana Boturchuk (Guide- Mykyta Barbanov) (UKR) who took SILVER while Yanfen Liang (Guide- Xuankang Zhu) (CHN) crossed for BRONZE.

GOLD for Catherine Debrunner (SUI) in the Women's 400m T53 as she finished ahead of GB's Samantha Kinghorn who crossed for SILVER while Hongzhuan Zhou (CHN) collected BRONZE

In the Women's 400m T54, Manuela Schaer (SUI) won GOLD as she finished ahead of Cheri Madsen (USA) who took SILVER while Zhaoqian Zhou (CHN) crossed for BRONZE

A Paralympic Record distance of 7.10m in the Women's Shot Put F33 as Asmahane Boudjadar (ALG) won GOLD ahead of Fouzia Kassioui (MAR) took SILVER while Maria Strong (AUS) claimed BRONZE

The Men's Shot Put F35 GOLD was won by Khusniddin Norbekov (UZB) as he out-threw Emanuel Hernan Urra (ARG) who took SILVER while Xinhan Fu (CHN) collected BRONZE.

A Paralympic Record time of 1:36.07 in the Men's 800m T53 as Pongsakorn Paeyo (THA) won GOLD ahead of Brent Lakatos (CAN) who took SILVER while Pierre Fairbank (FRA) collected BRONZE

In the Men's 800m T54, Marcel Hug (SUI) won GOLD ahead of Yunqiang Dai (CHN) who scooped SILVER while Saichon Konjen (THA) collected BRONZE

GB's Daniel Pembroke won GOLD in the Men's Javelin Throw F13 with a Paralympic Record distance of 69.52 as he out-threw Ali Pirouj (IRI) who took SILVER while Hector Cabrera Llacer (ESP) claimed BRONZE.


An historic GB 1-2 in the Women's C4-5 Road Race as Dame Sarah Storey won her 17th Paralympic GOLD to become GB's Most Decorated Paralympian and her team-mate Crystal Lane-Wright scooped SILVER ahead of Marie Patouillet (FRA) who crossed for BRONZE

Another GB 1-2 came in the Men's C1-3 Road Race as Ben Watson won GOLD ahead of Finlay Graham who took SILVER while Alexandre Leaute (FRA) collected BRONZE. GB's Jaco van Gass finished in fifth.

The Men's T1-2 Road Race saw Jianxin Chen (CHN) win GOLD ahead of Tim Celen (BEL) who took SILVER while Juan Jose Betancourt Quiroga (COL) claimed BRONZE

A German 1-2 in the Women's T1-2 Road Race as Jana Majunke won GOLD ahead of Angelika Dreock Kaeser who took SILVER while Jill Walsh (USA) crossed for BRONZE

The Mixed H1-5 Team Relay saw Italy (Paolo Cecchetto,Luca Mazzone, Diego Colombari) win GOLD ahead of France (Riadh Tarsim, Florian Jouanny, Loic Vergnaud) who took SILVER while USA (Ryan Pinney, Alicia Dana, Alfredo de los Santos) collected BRONZE


A Paralympic Record of 27 as Xing Huang (CHN) won GOLD in the P3 Mixed 25m Pistol SH1 ahead of Szymon Sowinski (POL) who scooped SILVER while Oleksii Denysiuk (UKR) claimed BRONZE




The Men's 400m Freestyle S6 GOLD was won by Talisson Henrique Glock (BRA) as he finished ahead of Antonio Fantin (ITA) who took SILVER while Vlascheslav Lenskii (RPC) collected BRONZE.

A WORLD RECORD time of 5:04.07 in the Women's 400m Freestyle S6 as Yuyan Jiang (CHN) stormed to GOLD ahead of Yelyzaveta Mereshko (UKR) who took SILVER while Nora Meister (SUI) collected BRONZE. GB trio Maisie Summers-Newton, Ellie Simmonds and Grace Harvey finished in fourth, fifth and seventh. 

A WORLD RECORD time of 57.19s in the Men's 100m Butterfly S9 as William Martin (AUS) won GOLD ahead of Simone Barlaam (ITA) who took SILVER while Alexander Skaliukh (RPC) claimed BRONZE

A Paralympic Record time of 1:06.55 in the Women's 100m Butterfly S9 as Zsofia Konkoly (HUN) won GOLD ahead of Elizabeth Smith (USA) who took SILVER while Sarai Gascon (ESP) who collected BRONZE. GB's Toni Shaw finished in fourth spot. 

A WORLD RECORD time of 57.19s in the Men's 100m Backstroke S10 as Maksym Krypak (UKR) won GOLD ahead of Stefano Raimondi (ITA) who scooped SILVER while Florent Marais (FRA) claimed BRONZE

GOLD for Bianka Pap (HUN) in the Women's 100m Backstroke S10 as she finished ahead of Aurelie Rivard (CAN) who took SILVER while Lisa Kruger (NED) collected BRONZE

A Paralympic Record time of 57.73 in the Men's 100m Backstroke S14 as Benjamin James Hance (AUS) won GOLD ahead of Vlacheslav Emeliantsev (RPC) who took SILVER while GB's Reece Dunn claimed BRONZE. Fellow British duo Jordan Catchpole and Louis Lawlor finished in fourth and eighth. 

GOLD for GB's Bethany Firth in the Women's 100m Backstroke S14 as she finished ahead of Valeriia Shabalina (RPC) who took SILVER while GB's Jessica-Jane Applegate claimed BRONZE

The Men's 50m Backstroke S1 saw GOLD won by Iyad Shalabi (ISR) as he finished ahead of Anton Kol (UKR) who scooped SILVER while Francesco Bettella (ITA) collected BRONZE

In the Men's 50m Backstroke S2, Gabriel Geraldo dos Santos Araujo (BRA) stormed to GOLD ahead of Alberto Abarza (CHI) who scooped SILVER while Vladimir Danileneko (RPC) claimed BRONZE

The Women's 50m Backstroke S2 GOLD was won by Pin Xiu Yip (CHN) as she finished ahead of Miyuki Yamada (JPN) who took SILVER while Yazhu Feng (CHN) collected BRONZE

GOLD for Diego Lopez Diaz (MEX) in the Men's 50m Freestyle S3 as he finished ahead of Liankang Zou (CHN) who took SILVER while Denys Ostapchenko (UKR) claimed BRONZE.

A Paralympic Record time of 37.21 in the Men's 50m Freestyle S4 as Ami Omer Dadaon (ISR) won GOLD ahead of Takayuki Suzuki (JPN) who took SILVER while Luigi Beggiato (ITA) collected BRONZE

A Paralympic Record time of 39.36 in the Women's 50m Freestyle S4 as Rachael Watson (AUS) won GOLD ahead of Arjola Trimi (ITA) who scooped SILVER while Marta Fernandez Infante (ESP) claimed BRONZE

The Women's 4x100m Medley Relay 34 pts saw USA (Hannah Aspden, Mikaela Jenkins, Jessica Long, Morgan Stickney) win GOLD ahead of RPC (Anastasiia Gontar, Elizaveta Sidorenko, Viktoriia Ishchiulova, Ani Palian) who took SILVER while Australia (Ellie Cole, Keira Stephens, Emily Beecroft, Isabella Vincent ) collected BRONZE. GB's Stephanie Millward, Maisie Summers-Newton, Toni Shaw & Zara Mullooly finished in fourth. 


The Men's Team Classes 4-5 saw China win GOLD with a 2-0 victory over Republic of Korea who took SILVER.

GOLD for China in the Women's Team Classes 6-8 as they won 2-0 over Netherlands who scooped SILVER

The Women's Team Classes 1-3 saw GOLD won by China with a 2-0 victory over Republic of Korea who took SILVER.

In the Men's Team Class 8, GOLD was won by China after a 2-0 victory over Ukraine who took SILVER.

The Men's Team Class 3 GOLD was won by China after a 2-1 victory over Germany who scooped SILVER


The Women's K44-49kg GOLD was won by Leonor Espinoza Carranza (PER) with a victory over Meryem Cavdar (TUR) who took SILVER while Khwansuda Phuangkitcha (THA) and Anna Poddubskaia (RPC) collected BRONZES after defeating Ziyodakon Isakova (UZB) and Viktoriia Marchuk (UKR).

GOLD for Nathan Sodario Torquato (BRA) in the Men's K44-61kg as he defeated Mohamed Elzayat (EGY) who took SILVER while Daniil Sidorov (RPC) and Mahmut Bozteke (TUR) took BRONZE after overcoming Bopha Kong (FRA) and Antonino Bossolo (ITA).
