Tokyo Paralympics Day Six (Catch-Up)

A busy week offline means a Catch Up tag for Day Six and the remaining days and after the busiest day of the games on Day Five, Six saw 53 GOLD medals handed out.

GOLD for GB's Phoebe Paterson Pine in the Women's Individual Compound as she sealed a 134-133 victory over Mariana Zuniga Varela (CHI) who took SILVER. BRONZE went to Maria Andrea Virgilio (ITA) who won 142-139 over Stepanida Artakhinova (RPC). 

In the Men's Individual W1, David Drahoninsky (CZE) won GOLD as he defeated Nihat Turkmenoglu (TUR) who took SILVER while Bahattin Hekimoglu (TUR) collected BRONZE after defeating Mohammadreza Zandi (IRI). 


The Men's Long Jump T12 GOLD was won by Amir Khosravani (IRI) as he out-jumped Leinier Savon Pineda (CUB) who took SILVER while Said Najafzade (AZE) collected BRONZE

A Paralympic Record of 45.59m in the Men's Discus Throw F56 as Claudiney Batista dos Santos (BRA) won GOLD ahead of Yogesh Kathuniya (IND) who took SILVER while Leonardo Diaz Aldana (CUB) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 4:37.40 in the Women's 1500m T11 as Monica Olivia Rodriguez Saavedra (Guide-Kevin Aguilar Perez)(MEX) won GOLD ahead of Louzanne Coetzee (Guide- Erasmus Badenhorst) (RSA) who sealed SILVER while Nancy Chelangat Koech(Guides-Geoffrey Rotich) (KEN) claimed BRONZE

A Paralympic Record of 14.06 in the Men's Shot Put F41 as Bobrijon Omonov (UZB) won GOLD ahead of Hagan Landry (USA) who took SILVER while Niko Kappel (GER) collected BRONZE and GB's Kyron Duke finished fourth. 

A WORLD RECORD of 8.33m in the Women's Shot Put F54 as Francisca Mardones Sepulveda (CHI) won GOLD ahead of Gloria Zarza Guadarrama (MEX) who took SILVER while Nurkhon Kurbanova (UZB) claimed BRONZE

GOLD for GB's Andrew Small in the Men's 100m T33 as he finished ahead of Ahmad Almutairi (KUW) who took SILVER while GB's Harri Jenkins crossed for BRONZE ahead of team-mate James Freeman who finished fourth.

The Men's 100m T34 GOLD was won by Walid Ktila (TUN) in a Paralympic Record time of 15.01 ahead of Rheed McCracken (AUS) who took SILVER while Mohamed Alhammadi (UAE) collected BRONZE. GB's Ben Rowlings finished in ninth. 

A WORLD RECORD of 67.79m in the Men's Javelin as Dinesh Priyan Herath Mudiyanselage (SRI) won GOLD ahead of Devendra (IND) who took SILVER ahead of team-mate Sundar Singh Gurjar who claimed BRONZE.

A WORLD RECORD of 68.55 in the Men's Javelin F64 as Sumit Sumit (IND) won GOLD ahead of Michal Burian (AUS) who took SILVER with a WORLD RECORD in his class while Dulan Kodithuwakku (SRI) collected BRONZE.

A WORLD RECORD in the Men's 100m T35 as Dmitrii Safronov (RPC) won GOLD ahead of Ihor Tsvietov (UKR) who took SILVER while Artem Kalashian (RPC) crossed for BRONZE

The Women's Discus Throw F53 saw a WORLD RECORD throw of 17.62m as Elizabeth Rodrigues Gomes (BRA) won GOLD ahead of Ukranian duo Iana Lebiedeva who took SILVER while Zola Ovsii collected BRONZE

A Paralympic Record of 5.76m in the Men's Long Jump T36 as EvgeniI Torsunov (RPC) won GOLD ahead of Willam Stedman (AUS) who sealed SILVER while Roman Pavlyk (UKR) claimed BRONZE

The Men's Shot Put F11 saw GOLD won by Mahdi Olad (IRI) ahead of Alessandro Rodrigo da Silva (BRA) who took SILVER while Oney Tapia (ITA) collected BRONZE

In the Men's 100m T63, a WORLD RECORD as Anton Prokhorov (RPC) won GOLD ahead of Vinicius Goncalves Rodrigues (BRA) who sealed SILVER while Leon Schaffer (GER) collected BRONZE

The Men's 100m T64, GOLD was won by Felix Strang (GER) as he finished ahead of Sherman Isidro Guity Guity (CRC) who took SILVER while GB's Jonnie Peacock and Johannes Floors (GER) shared BRONZE


GOLD for Sanne Voets (NED) in the Dressage Individual Freestyle Test Grade IV as she out-scored Louise Etzner Jakobsson (SWE) who took SILVER while Manon Claeys (BEL) collected BRONZE.

Michele George (BEL) won GOLD in the Dressage Individual Freestyle Test Grade V ahead of Frank Hosmar (NED) who sealed SILVER while Regine Mispelkamp (GER) claimed BRONZE. GB's Sophie Wells finished in fourth. 

The Dressage Individual Freestyle Test Grade III GOLD was won by Tobias Thorning Jorgensen (DEN) ahead of GB's Natasha Baker who took SILVER while Ann Cathrin Lubbe (NOR) collected BRONZE

Double joy for GB in the Dressage Individual Freestyle Test Grade II as Sir Lee Pearson took GOLD ahead of Pepo Puch (AUT) who took SILVER while team-mate Georgia Wilson collected BRONZE

GOLD for Roxanne Trunnell (USA) in the Dressage Individual Freestyle Test Grade I ahead of Richards Snikus (LAT) who took SILVER while Sara Morganti (ITA) collected BRONZE


The Men's -107kg GOLD was won by Sodnompiljee Enkhbayar (MGL) with a Paralympic Record lift of 245kg, Yee Khie Jong (MAS) sealed SILVER while Saman Razi (IRI) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD of 151kg in the Women's -86kg as Folashade Oluwafemiayo (NGR) won GOLD ahead of Feifei Zheng (CHN) who took SILVER while GB's Louise Sugden collected BRONZE

The R4 Mixed 10m Air Rifle Standing SH2 saw a Paralympic Record of 252.8 as Philip Jonsson (SWE) won GOLD ahead of Francek Gorazd Tirsek (SLO) who took SILVER while Andrea Liverani (ITA) claimed BRONZE.

A Paralympic Record time of 1:21.27 in the Women's 100m Backstroke S7 as Mallory Weggemann (USA) won GOLD ahead of Danielle Dorris (CAN) who took SILVER while Julia Gaffney (USA) collected BRONZE

A Paralympic Record time of 2:44.84 as Ami Omer Dadaon (ISR) won GOLD in the Men's 200m Freestyle S4 ahead of Takayuki Suzuki (JPN) who sealed SILVER while Roman Zhdanov (RPC) claimed BRONZE

The Men's 50m Butterfly S6 saw a China 1-2 as GOLD was won by Jingang Wang and SILVER by Hongguang Jia while Nelson Crispin Corzo (COL) collected BRONZE

In the Women's 50m Butterfly S6, Yuyan Kiang (CHN) won GOLD ahead of Nicole Turner (IRL) who took SILVER while Elizabeth Marks (USA) who claimed BRONZE while GB's Ellie Robinson finished fifth. 

A China clean sweep in the Men's 50m Backstroke S5 as Tao Zheng won GOLD ahead of Jingsong Ruan who took SILVER while Lichao Wang collected BRONZE. GBs Andrew Mullen finished in seventh.  

The Women's 50m Backstroke S5 saw Dong Lu (CHN) win GOLD ahead of Teresa Perales (ESP) who took SILVER while Sevilay Ozturk (TUR) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 2:19.02 in the Men's 200m Individual Medley SM11 as Roger Dorsman (NED) won GOLD ahead of Mykhailo Serbin (UKR) who took SILVER while Uchu Tomita (JPN) collected BRONZE

A China 1-2 in the Women's 200m Individual Medley SM11 with a WORLD RECORD time of 2:42.14 for Jia Ma who took GOLD ahead of Liwen Cai who sealed SILVER while Anatasia Pagonis (USA) claimed BRONZE

The Women's 100m Freestyle GOLD was won by Arjola Trimi (ITA) as she finished ahead of Leanne Smith (USA) who took SILVER and Iuliia Shishova (RPC) who collected BRONZE while GB's Ellie Challis finished in fourth. 

A WORLD RECORD time of 2:02.70 in the Men's 200m Individual Medley SM13 as Ihar Boki (BLR) won GOLD ahead of Alex Portal (FRA) who took SILVER while Thomas van Wanrooij (NED) collected BRONZE.

A WORLD RECORD time of 2:21.44 in the Women's 200m Individual Medley SM13 as Carlotta Gilli (ITA) won GOLD ahead of Colleen Young (USA) who took SILVER while Skokhsanamkhon Toshpulatova (UZB) claimed BRONZE

Australia (Rowan Crothers, William Martin, Matthew Levy, Ben Popham) stormed to GOLD with a WORLD RECORD time of 3:44.51 in the Men's 4x100m Freestyle - 34pts. SILVER was sealed by Italy (Antonio Fantin, Simone Ciulli, Simone Barlaam, Stefano Raimondi) while Ukraine (Yuril Bozhynski, Denys Dubrov,Andrii Trusov, Maksym Krypak) collected BRONZE


GOLD for Maryna Lytovchenko (UKR) in the Women's Singles Class 6 after a 3-0 win over Maliak Alieva (RPC) who took SILVER.

In the Men's Singles Class 8, Shual Zhao (CHN) won GOLD with a 3-1 win over Viktor Didukh (UKR) who sealed SILVER.

The Women's Singles Class 7 GOLD was won by Kelly van Zon (NED) as she edged a 3-2 victory over Viktoriia Safonova (RPC) who scooped SILVER.

The all-Korean battle in the Men's Singles Class 1 saw Young Dae Joo take GOLD with a 3-1 win over teammate Hyeon Uk Kim who secured SILVER

GOLD for Fabien Lamirault (FRA) in the Men's Singles Class 2 after a 3-2 win over Rafal Czuper (POL) who took SILVER

Abdullah Ozturk (TUR) won GOLD in the Men's Singles Class 4 after a 3-1 win over Young-Gun Kim (KOR) who took SILVER

In the Women's Singles Class 9, GOLD was won by Li Na Lei (AUS) with a 3-2 victory over Guiyan Xiong (CHN) who scooped SILVER

The Women's Singles Class 10 saw Qian Yang (AUS) take GOLD with a 3-1 win over Bruna Costa Alexandre (BRA) who collected SILVER.
