Tokyo Paralympics Day Ten (Catch-Up)

 Another delayed catch-up of a busy day in Day Ten with 55 GOLDs on the line.

The Men's Individual Recurve Open GOLD was won by Kevin Mather (USA) after a 6-4 success over Lixue Zhao (CHN) who took SILVER while Harvinder Singh (IND) claimed BRONZE after winning 6-5 over Min Su Kim (KOR). 




The Women's Shot Put F12 saw GOLD won by Safiya Burkhanova (UZB) ahead of Assunta Legnante (ITA) who took SILVER while Rebeca Valenzuela Alvarez (MEX) collected BRONZE. GB's Lydia Church finished in eighth.

A Paralympic Record distance of 5.76m in the Women's Long Jump T47 as Anna Grimaldi (NZL) won GOLD ahead of Aleksandra Moguchaia (RPC) who scooped SILVER while Kiara Rodriguez (ECU) claimed BRONZE. GB's Polly Maton finished in seventh. 

A Paralympic Record distance of 31.35m in the Men's Javelin Throw F53 as Hamed Amiri (IRI) won GOLD ahead of Aleksei Kuznetsov (RPC) who took SILVER while Justin Phongsavai (USA) collected BRONZE.

GOLD for GB's Owen Miller in the Men's 1500m T20 as he finished ahead of Aleksandr Rabotnitskii (RPC) who took SILVER while Ndiaga Dieng (ITA) collected BRONZE

The Women's 1500m T20 GOLD was won by Barbara Bieganowska-Zajac (POL) as she finished ahead of Liudmyla Danylina (UKR) who took SILVER while GB's Hannah Taunton crossed for BRONZE

In the Men's Discus Throw F37, Haider Ali (PAK) won GOLD ahead of Mykola Zhabnyak (UKR) who scooped SILVER while Joao Victor Teixeira de Sousa Silva (BRA) collected BRONZE

The Men's High Jump T64 saw GB's Jonathan Broom-Edwards win GOLD ahead of Kumar Praveen (IND) who took SILVER while Maciej Lepiato (POL) collected BRONZE

GOLD for Raymond Martin (USA) in the Men's 100m T52 ahead of Yuki Oya (JPN) who took SILVER while Leonardo de Jesus Perez Juarez (MEX) who crossed for BRONZE

A Paralympic Record distance of 6.03m in the Women's Long Jump T20 as Karolina Kucharczyk (POL) won GOLD ahead of Aleksandra Ruchkina (RPC) who took SILVER while Mikela Ristoski (CRO) claimed BRONZE

A Paralympic Record distance of 25.12m in the Women's Club Throw F51 as Zola Ovsii (UKR) won GOLD ahead of Cassie Mitchell (USA) who scooped SILVER while Elena Gorlova (RPC) collected BRONZE. GB's Joanna Butterfield finished in fourth spot. 

A Paralympic Record distance of 15.00m in the Men's Shot Put F57 as Guoshan Wu (CHN) won GOLD ahead of Brazilian duo Marco Aurelio Borges who took SILVER and Thiago Paulino dos Santos who collected BRONZE

A Paralympic Record time of 12.78s as Marlene van Gansewinkel (NED) won GOLD in the Women's 100m T64 ahead of Irmgard Bensusan (GER) who took SILVER while Marissa Papaconstantinou (CAN) collected BRONZE. GB's Sophie Kamlish finished in eighth. 

The Women's Javelin Throw F46 saw GOLD won by Holly Robinson (AUS) as she out-threw Noelle Roodra (NED) who took SILVER while GB's Hollie Arnold collected BRONZE

GOLD for Johannes Floors (GER) in the Men's 400m T62 as he finished ahead of Olivier Hendriks (NED) who took SILVER while Hunter Woodhall (USA) crossed for BRONZE

The Men's 200m T61 GOLD was won by Ntando Mahlangu (RSA) ahead of GB's Richard Whitehead who took SILVER while Ali Lacin (GER) collected BRONZE. 

A Paralympic Record time of 20.33s in the Men's 100m T51 as Peter Genyn (BEL) won GOLD ahead of Toni Piispanen (FIN) who scooped SILVER while Roger Habsch (BEL) claimed BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 45.52s in the 4x100m Universal Relay as USA (Noah Malone, Britnni Mason, Nick Mayhugh, Tatyana McFadden) won GOLD ahead of GB (Libby Clegg (Guide- Chris Clarke), Jonnie Peacock, Ali Smith, Nathan Maguire) who scooped SILVER while Japan (Uran Sawada (Guide-Ryuhe i Showkawa), Kengo Oshima, Yuka Takamatsu, Tomoki Suzuki) claimed BRONZE.


The Men's Kayak Single 200m KL1 GOLD was won by Peter Kiss (HUN) who finished ahead of Luis Carlos Cardoso da Silva (BRA) who took SILVER while Remy Boulle (FRA) collected BRONZE. GB's Ian Marsden finished in eighth. 

GOLD for GB's Emma Wiggs in the Women's Va'a Single 200m VL2 as she finished ahead of Susan Seipel (AUS) who scooped SILVER while GB's Jeanette Chippington claimed BRONZE

The Men's Kayak Single 200m KL2 GOLD was won by Curtis McGrath (AUS) ahead of Mykola Syniuk (UKR) who took SILVER while Federico Mancarella (ITA) collected BRONZE. GB's David Phillipson finished in seventh. 

GOLD for Serhii Yemelianov (UKR) in the Men's Kayak Single 200m KL3 as he finished ahead of Leonid Krylov (RPC) who took SILVER while GB's Robert Oliver collected BRONZE



The Men's C4-5 Road Race GOLD was won by Kevin le Cunff (FRA) as he crossed ahead of Yehor Dementyev (UKR) who scooped SILVER while Daniel Abraham Gebru (NED) collected BRONZE. GB's George Peasgood finished in sixth.

In the Women's C1-3 Road Race, Keiko Sugiura (JPN) won GOLD ahead of Anna Beck (SWE) who took SILVER while Paige Greco (AUS) claimed BRONZE

GOLD for Katie-George Dunlevy (Pilot- Eve McCrystal) (IRL) in the Women's B Road Race as she finished ahead of GB's Sophie Unwin (Pilot-Jenny Holl) who took SILVER while Louise Jannering (Pilot- Anna Svaerdstroem) (SWE) crossed for BRONZE. GB's Lora Fachie (Pilot- Corrine Hall) finished in fifth

The Men's B Road Race saw a Netherlands 1-2 as Vincent ter Schure (Pilot-Timo Fransen) won GOLD ahead of Tristan Bangma (Pilot- Patrick Bos) who took SILVER while Alexandre Lloveras (Pilot- Corentin Ermenault) (FRA) collected BRONZE


The Women's GOLD was won by Turkey after a 9-2 victory over USA who took SILVER while a 6-1 win over Brazil saw Japan collect BRONZE

The Men's GOLD was won by Brazil after a 7-2 victory over China who took SILVER while Turkey claimed BRONZE after easing to a 9-2 win over USA




A Paralympic Record of 457.9 in the R8 Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 as Cuiping Zhang (CHN) won GOLD ahead of Natascha Hiltrop (GER) who took SILVER while Avani Lekhara (IND) collected BRONZE

The R7 Men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 GOLD was won by Abdulla Sultan Alaryani (UAE) ahead of Laslo Suranji (SRB) who scooped SILVER while Youngjip Shim (KOR) collected BRONZE


A Paralympic Record time of 2:05.68 in the Men's 200m Individual Medley SM10 as Maksym Krypak (UKR) won GOLD ahead of Stefano Raimondi (ITA) who scooped SILVER while Bas Takken (NED) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 2:24.85 in the Women's 200m Individual Medley SM10 as Chantalle Zijderveld (NED) won GOLD ahead of Bianka Pap (HUN) who took SILVER while Lisa Kruger (NED) collected BRONZE

The Men's 100m Backstroke S6 saw GOLD won by Hongguang Jia (CHN) ahead of Matias de Andrade (ARG) who scooped SILVER while Dino Sinovic (CRO) claimed BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 1:19.57 in the Women's 100m Backstroke S6 as Elizabeth Marks (USA) won GOLD ahead of Yuyan Jiang (CHN) who took SILVER while Verena Schott (GER) collected BRONZE

The Men's 100m Butterfly S8 GOLD was won by Robert Griswold (USA) ahead of Feng Yang (CHN) who scooped SILVER while Denys Dubrov (UKR) claimed BRONZE

In the Women's 100 Butterfly S8, Jessica Long (USA) won GOLD ahead of Viktoriia Ishchiulova (RPC) who scooped SILVER while Laura Carolina Gonzalez Rodriguez (COL) collected BRONZE

GOLD for Evan Austin (USA) in the Men's 50m Butterfly S7 as he finished ahead of Andrii Trusov (UKR) who took SILVER while Carlos Daniel Serrano Zarate (COL) claimed BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 40.99s as Roman Zhdanov (RPC) won GOLD in the Men's 50m Backstroke S4 ahead of Arnost Petracek (CZE) who secured SILVER while Angel de Jesus Camacho Ramirez (MEX) claimed BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 44.68s in the Women's 50m Backstroke S4 as China sealed a 1-2 as Yu Liu won GOLD ahead of Yanfei Zhou who took SILVER while Alexandra Stamatopoulou (GRE) collected BRONZE.

The Men's 100m Butterfly S12 saw GOLD won by Raman Salei (AZE) ahead of GB's Stephen Clegg who scooped SILVER while Roman Makarov (RPC) claimed BRONZE.

A Paralympic Record of 1:05.87 in the Women's 100m Freestyle S11 as Guizhi Li (CHN) won GOLD ahead of Liesette Bruinsma (NED) who sealed SILVER while Liwen Cai (CHN) collected BRONZE

The Men's 200m Freestyle S3 GOLD was won by Denys Ostapchenko (UKR) ahead of Diego Lopez Diaz (MEX) who claimed SILVER ahead of compatriot Jesus Hernandez Hernandez (MEX) who claimed BRONZE

A China 1-2 in the Women's 200m Individual Medley SM5 as Dong Lu won GOLD ahead of Jiao Cheng who took SILVER while Monica Boggioni (ITA) sealed BRONZE

The Men's 100m Butterfly S11 saw a Japan 1-2 as Keiichi Kimura won GOLD ahead of Uchu Tomita who took SILVER while Wendell Belarmino Pereira (BRA) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 4:06.59 in the Men's 4x100m Medley 34 pts as RPC (Bogdan Mozgovoi, Andrei Kalina, Alexander Skaliukh, Andrei Nikolaev) won GOLD ahead of Australia (Tim Hodge, Tim Disken, William Martin, Ben Popham) who sealed SILVER while Italy (Riccardo Menciotti, Stefano Raimondi, Simone Barlaam, Antonio Fantin) collected BRONZE


The Women's Team Classes 9-10 saw GOLD won by Poland after a 2-0 victory over Australia who took SILVER.

In the Women's Team Classes 4-5, China took GOLD after a 2-1 win over Sweden who had to settle for SILVER.

The Men's Team Classes 6-7 saw China win GOLD with a 2-0 success over GB who took SILVER.

France won GOLD in the Men's Team Classes 1-2 with a 2-0 victory over Republic of Korea who took SILVER.

The Men's Team Classes 9-10 GOLD was won by China after a 2-0 success over Australia who took SILVER


The Men's K44 -75kg GOLD was won by Juan Diego Garcia Lopez (MEX) who defeated Mahdi Pourrahnamaahmadgourabi (IRI) who took SILVER while Juan Samorano (ARG) and Jeong Jun Hoo (KOR) collected BRONZES after defeating Nurian Dombayev (KAZ) and Magomedzagir Isaldibirov (RPC).

In the Women's K44 -58kg, Lisa Gjessing (DEN) won GOLD after defeating GB's Beth Munro who sealed SILVER while Yujie Li (CHN) and Silvana Cardoso Fernandes (BRA) collected BRONZES after defeating Gamze Gurdal (TUR) and Palesha Goverdhan (NEP).


The Quad Singles saw BRONZE won by Niels Vink (NED) after a 6-1/6-4 victory over Koi Sugeno (JPN). 

In the Men's Doubles, Stephane Houdet/Nicolas Peifer (FRA) won GOLD with a 7-5/0-6/7-6 victory over GB's Alfie Hewett/Gordon Reid who took SILVER. BRONZE was claimed by Tom Egberink/Maikel Scheffers (NED) as they won 6-3/6-2 over Shingo Kunieda/Takashi Sanada (JPN). 

The Women's Singles GOLD was won by Diede de Groot (NED) as she claimed a 6-3/7-6 victory over Yui Kamiji (JPN) who took SILVER while GB's Jordanne Whiley sealed BRONZE after winning 6-4/6-7/6-4 against Aniek van Koot (NED).
