Milan Cortina Day 12

Day 12- Wednesday February 18th


Curling
- A positive day for GB today with the Women edging an 8-7 last stone victory over USA before easing to a 9-3 win against Japan in the second session leaving them with a must-win against Italy tomorrow to seal a semi final spot. The Men won their final round robin match with ease beating USA 9-2 and now await other results tomorrow to see if they will be in the semi finals that evening. 


Snowboard Men's Snowboard Slopestyle
saw Yiming Su (CHN) (82.41) win ahead of Taiga Hasegawa (JPN) (82.13) and Jake Canter (USA) (79.36). The Women's Slopesyle was won by Mari Fukada (JPN) (87.83) ahead of Zoi Sadowski Synnott (NZL) (87.48) and Kokomo Murase (JPN) (85.80).


Cross-Country Skiing Women's Team Sprint Free saw Sweden (20:29.99) win by 1.4s over Switzerland (20:31.39) while Germany (20:35.86) rounded off the medals. The Men's Team Sprint Free was won by Norway (18:28.98) ahead of USA (18:30.35) while Italy (18:32.29) finished 3.31s off the lead with GB finishing fifth. 


Alpine Skiing Women's Slalom
was won by Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) (1:39.10) with a 1.5s gap to Camille Rast (SUI) while Anna Swenn Larsson (SWE) rounded off the medals. 

Biathlon Women's 4x6km Relay saw France ease to the win with a 51.3s gap to Sweden while Norway finishes 1m7s off the lead. 


Short Track Speed Skating Women's 3000m Relay featured a chaotic final which saw Republic of Korea win ahead of Italy for whom Arianna Fontana became her nation's most decorated Olympian while Canada rounded off the medals. The Men's 500m was won by Steven Dubois (CAN) ahead of Netherlands brothers Melle van 'T Wout and Jens van 'T Wout.
