Milan Cortina Day 5

 Day 5- Wednesday February 11th


A third win of the Games for Franjo von Allmen (SUI) (1:25.32) in Alpine Skiing Men's Super-G ahead of Ryan Cochran-Siegle (USA) (1:25.45) while Marco Odermatt (SUI) (1:25.60) finished just 0.28s off the lead.


Nordic Combined Individual Gundersen Normal Hill/10km was won by Jens Luroas Oftebro (NOR) (29.59.4) ahead of Johannes Lamparter (AUT) (30.00.4) with Eero Hirvonen (FIN) (30.01.9) finishing 2.5s off the lead. 


Biathlon Women's 15km Individual saw a France 1-2 as Julia Simon (FRA) (41:15.6) eased to victory by 53.1s ahead of Lou Jeanmonnot (FRA) (42:08.7) while Lora Hristova (BUL) (42:20.1) finished 1m 04s off the lead and GB's Shawna Pendry finished in 88th place.


Freestyle Skiing Women's Moguls featured a USA 1-2 as Elizabeth Lemley scored 82.30 ahead of teammate Jaelin Kauf (80.77) with Perrine Laffont (FRA) (78) finishing 4.3 pts off the lead. 


An OLYMPIC RECORD time of 1:06.28 saw Jordan Stolz (USA) win the Speed Skating Men's 1000m ahead of Jenning de Boo (NED) (1:06.78) while Zhongyan Ning (CHN) (1:07.34) finished 1.06s off the lead.


Luge Women's Doubles saw Italy (Andrea Voetter/Marion Oberhofer) (1:46.284) win ahead of Germany (Dajana Eitberger/Magdalena Matschina) (1:46.404) while Austria (Selina Egle/ Michaela Kipp) (1:46.543) finished 0.25s off the lead. The Men's Doubles saw Italy (Emanuel Rieder/Simon Kainzwaldner) (1:45.086) win ahead of Austria (Thomas Steu/ Wolfgang Kindl) (1:45.154) while Germany (Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt) (1:45.176) finished 0.09s off the lead. 


Curling- Men's saw the Round Robin begin with the GB quartet of Bruce Mouat/Grant Hardie/ Bobby Lammie/ Hammy making a perfect start in a 9-4 win against China.                                                                    


Figure Skating Ice Dance saw France (Laurence Fournier Beaudry/ Guillaume Cizeron) (225.82) win ahead of USA (Madison Chock/Evan Bates) (224.39) while Canada (Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier) (217.74) finished third and GB duos Lilah Fear/Lewis Gibson (204.32) and Phebe Dekker/ James Hernandez (178.45) finished in seventh and 17th.
