London 2012 Day 12 Part 1

At Eton Dorney in the Canoe Sprint final, Tim Brabants sadly failed to defend his Olympic title as he finished eighth with Norway's Eirik Veras Larsen taking the gold.

Daniel Awde began his Decathlon campaign with a PB in the 100m with a 10.71 to win his heat while Sophie Hitchon scores a new British Record in the Hammer of 71.98m.

Sad news in the Decathlon as former Olympic champion Roman Sebrle (Cze) pulls out of the competition after the 100m stage and Daniel Awde struggles in the Long Jump stage to leave him 19th overall.

Double gold looks good for Mo Farah as he qualifies for the 5000m final safely and Lyndsey Sharp qualifies for the semis of the 800m by finishing second in her heat while Steve Lewis vaulted 5.50m in the Pole Vault to put him in contention for the final.
