London 2012 Day 7 Part 2

The medals continued as Team GB beat their own world record as they defended their men's Olympic pursuit title to win yet another cycling gold and this was soon added to by Victoria Pendleton who won second Olympic gold medal as she captured victory in the women's keirin.

Rebecca Adlington sealed silver after her and fellow favourite Lotte Friis were blown away by 15 year old American Katie Ledecky in the Women's 800m freestyle with Belmonte Garcia sealing silver.

After last month's Wimbledon final loss to Roger Federer not many would have predicted that Andy Murray would have the chance to redeem himself in a repeat but today he achieved that chance by shocking World number one Novak Djokovic (Srb) in straight sets 7-5 7-5 to set up a chance for Olympic gold vs Federer. However, Murray could be Olympic champion before having won Wimbledon itself which would eradicate the defeat at SW19 and even spur him on for next year but a silver as a minimum is a massive accolade for him.

Over in the Heptathlon, favourite Jess Ennis lead into day two after mixed results after her blistering 100m Hurdles win in the High Jump, Shot Put and 200m.
