London 2012 Day 6 Part 1

At Eton Dorney, the Men's four reached the final by winning their semi ahead of Australia and the Women's Lightweight double sculls also won their semi with Sophie Hosking and Katherine Copeland beating Greece by three seconds. Hunter & Purchase also reach their final by winning their Men's Lightweight double sculls semi ahead of France.

Over in the pool and in heat 1 of the Women's 800m freestyle, Ellie Faulkner finished sixth in her heat to miss out on the final but fellow Brit Rebecca Adlington stormed home in the third heat to go into the final as fastest ahead of Dane Lottie Friis who had won heat 2.

Missy Franklin won the last heat of the Women's 200m Backstroke, with Stephanie Proud of Great Britain fourth in 2:10.01.This meant that proud will be joined by Lizzie Simmonds in the semi finals after she came home fourth in her heat. 

In the final of the Men's double sculls New Zealand took the win ahead of Italy and Slovenia with Britain in fifth, Silver for GB in the Men's lightweight four as South Africa took the gold woth Denmark third.
