Tokyo Paralympics Day Four

Day Four saw another packed day of action withover 60 medal events across nine sports with Athletics, Swimming and Table Tennis in double figures.

Medals 


The Mixed Team W1 GOLD was won by China after a 138-132 victory over Czech Republic who took SILVER while RPC claimed BRONZE with a 132-127 victory over Republic of Korea. 




The Women's Discus Throw F57 saw GOLD won by Mokhigul Khamdamova (UZB) ahead of Nassima Saifi (ALG) who scooped SILVER while Julyana Cristina da Silva (BRA) collected BRONZE

In the Men's Shot Put F12, Kim Lopez Gonzalez (ESP) won GOLD with a WORLD RECORD of 17.04m ahead of Roman Danyluk (UKR) who sealed SILVER while Elbek Sultonov (UZB) claimed BRONZE

The Men's 5000m T13 GOLD was won by Yassine Ouhdadi EL Ataby (ESP) as he finished ahead of Jaryd Clifford (AUS) who took SILVER while Aleksandr Kostin (Guide- Iurii Kloptcov) (RPC) crossed for BRONZE. GB's David Devine finished in fourth. 

GOLD for Susannah Scaroni (USA) with a Paralympic Record of 10:02:57 in the Women's 5000m T54 ahead of Manuela Schaer (SUI) who scooped SILVER while Tatyana McFadden (USA) collected BRONZE

The Men's 1500m T46 GOLD was won by Aleksandr Iaremchuk (RPC) as he finished ahead of Hristiyan Stoyanov (BUL) who took SILVER while David Emong (UGA) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD of 6.16m in the Women's Long Jump T64 as Fleur Jong (NED) won GOLD as she out-jumped Marie-Amelie le Fur (FRA) who scooped SILVER while Marlene van Gansewinkel (NED) who collected BRONZE narrowly ahead of GB's Stef Reid who finished fourth. 

The Women's Javelin Throw F13 saw GOLD won by Nozimakhon Kayumova (UZB) ahead of Yuping Zhao (CHN) who sealed SILVER while Lizaveta Piatrenka (BLR) collected BRONZE.

In the Women's 400m T11, GOLD for Guiqing Liu (Guide- Donglin Xu) (CHN) with a Paralympic Record time of 56.25 ahead of Thalita Vitoria Simplicio da Silva (Guide- Felipe Veloso da Silva) (BRA) who took SILVER while Angie Lizeth Pabon Mamian (Guide- Luis Dahir Arizala Ocoro) (COL) collected BRONZE

The Men's Javelin Throw F57 GOLD was won by Hamed Heidari (AZE) with a WORLD RECORD throw of 51.42m, Amanolah Papi (IRI) took SILVER while Cicero Valdiran Lins Nobre (BRA) claimed BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD throw of 45.39m won GOLD for Li Liu (CHN) in the Men's Club Throw F32 as he out-threw Athanasios Konstantinidis (GRE) who scooped SILVER while Walid Ferhah (ALG) collected BRONZE

The Women's 1500m T13 saw GOLD won by Tigist Gezahagn Menigstu (ETH) ahead of Liza Corso (USA) who scooped SILVER while Somaya Bousaid (TUN) crossed for BRONZE.

In the Women's Shot Put F37, a Paralympic Record throw of 15.12m won GOLD for Lisa Adams (NZL) as she out-threw Na Mi (CHN) who took SILVER while Yingli Li (CHN) collected BRONZE

GOLD for GB's Thomas Young in the Men's 100m T38 as he finished ahead of Dening Zhu (CHN) who scooped SILVER while Evan O'Hanlon (AUS) claimed BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD of 7.17m in the Men's Long Jump T63 as Ntando Mahlangu (RSA) won GOLD ahead of Leon Schaeffer (GER) who took SILVER while Daniel Wagner (DEN) collected BRONZE

GOLD for GB's Sophie Hahn in the Women's 100m T38 as she finished ahead of Darian Faisury Jiminez Sanchez (COL) who crossed for SILVER while Lindy Ave (GER) took BRONZE. GB duo Olivia Breen and Ali Smith finished in sixth and eighth. 

The Men's 5000m T54 GOLD was won by Marcel Hug (SUI) as he finished ahead of Brent Lakatos (CAN) who took SILVER while Putharet Khongrak (THA) crossed for BRONZE

The final Athletics medal event of the day was the Women's 400m T47 as Anrune Weyers (RSA) won GOLD ahead of Lisabeli Marina Vera Andrade (VEN) who took SILVER while Anastasiia Soloveva (RPC) crossed for BRONZE. 


The Women's 57kg GOLD was won by Sevda Valiyeva (AZE) as she defeated Parvina Samandarova (UZB) who took SILVER. BRONZES went to Lucia Araujo (BRA) and Zeynep Celik (TUR) as they defeated Junko Hirose (JPN) and Natalia Ovchinnikova (RPC). 

In the Men's 73kg, Feruz Sayidov (UZB) won GOLD by defeating Temirzhan Daulet (KAZ) who took SILVER while BRONZES went to Rufat Mahomedov (UKR) and Osvaldas Bareikis (LTU) as they defeated Vasilii Kutuev (RPC) and Giorgi Kaldani (GEO).

The Women's 63kg GOLD was won by Khanim Huseynova (AZE) after she defeated Iryna Husieva (UKR) who scooped SILVER while BRONZES went to Yue Wang (CHN) and Nafisa Sheripboeva (UZB) as they defeated Olga Pozdnysheva (RPC) and Marta Arce Payno (ESP).

In the Men's 81kg, Huseyn Rahimli (AZE) won GOLD after defeating Davurkhon Karomatov (UZB) who took SILVER while BRONZES went to Jung Min Lee (KOR) and Eduardo Adrian Avila Sanchez (MEX) as they defeated Nathan Petit (FRA) and Dmytro Solovey (UKR). 

 
The Men's 72kg saw a Paralympic Record of 228 as Bonnie Bunyau Gustin (USA) won GOLD ahead of Mahmoud Attia (EGY) who scooped SILVER while GB's Micky Yule collected BRONZE

In the Women's 61kg, Amalia Perez (MEX) won GOLD ahead of Ruza Kuzieva (UZB) who took SILVER while Lucy Ejike (NGR) claimed BRONZE

The Women's 67kg saw GOLD won by Yujiao Tan (CHN) ahead of Fatma Omar (EGY) who took SILVER while Olaitan Ibrahim (NGR) collected BRONZE

In the Men's 80kg, Roohllah Rostami (IRI) won GOLD ahead of Xiaofei Gu (CHN) who took SILVER while Mohamed Elelfat (EGY) who claimed BRONZE.



The Men's 100m Breaststroke SB6 saw Yevhenil Bohodaiko (UKR) win GOLD ahead of Nelson Crispin Corzo (COL) who took SILVER while Matthew Levy (AUS) collected BRONZE

GOLD for GB's Maisie Summers-Newton with a Paralympic Record time of 1:32.34 ahead of Daomin Liu (CHN) who scooped SILVER while Sophia Herzog (USA) collected BRONZE. GB's Ellie Simmonds narrowly missed out on medalling as she finished fourth. 

The Men's 100m Freestyle S10 saw GOLD won by Maksym Krypak (UKR) ahead of Rowan Crothers (AUS) who took SILVER while Stefano Raimondi (ITA) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 58.14 in the Women's 100m Freestyle S10 as Aurelie Rivard (CAN) won GOLD ahead of Dutch duo Chantalle Zijderveld who took SILVER and Lisa Kruger who claimed BRONZE

GOLD for Roman Zhdanov (RPC) with a WORLD RECORD time of 2:21.17 in the Men's 150m Individual Medley SM4 as he finished ahead of Ami Omer Dadaon (ISR) who scooped SILVER while Takayuki Suzuki (JPN) claimed BRONZE

The Women's 150 Individual Medley SM4 saw a China 1-2 as Yu Liu won GOLD ahead of Yanfei Zhou who scooped SILVER while Nataliia Butkova (RPC) claimed BRONZE

In the Men's 150m Individual Medley SM3, Jesus Hernandez Hernandez won GOLD ahead of Australian duo Ahmed Kelly who took SILVER and Grant Patterson who claimed BRONZE.

A Ukranian 1-2 in the Men's 100m Backstroke S11 as Mykhailo Serbin won GOLD ahead of Viktor Smyrnov who scooped SILVER while Bozun Yang (CHN) collected BRONZE

A clean sweep for China in the Women's 100m Backstroke S11 as Liwen Cai won GOLD ahead of Xinyi Wang who took SILVER while Guizhi Li claimed BRONZE. 

The Men's 200m Individual Medley SM8 GOLD was won by Denys Dubrov (UKR) as he finished ahead of Chinese duo Hajiao Xu who took SILVER and Guanglong Yang who collected BRONZE

Jessica Long (USA) won GOLD in the Women's 200m Individual Medley SM8 ahead of Xenia Francesca Palazzo (ITA) who scooped SILVER while Mariia Pavlova (RPC) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 1:25.13 in the Men's 100m Breaststroke SB5 as Andrei Granichika (RPC) won GOLD ahead of Antoni Ponce Bertran (ESP) who took SILVER while Junsheng Li (CHN) claimed BRONZE. 

The Women's 100m Breaststroke SB5 saw Yelyzaveta Mereshko (UKR) win GOLD ahead of GB's Grace Harvey who scooped SILVER while Verena Scott (GER) collected BRONZE

The final event of the day in the pool was the Mixed 4x100m Freestyle Relay S14 as GB (Reece Dunn, Bethany Firth, Jessica-Jane Applegate, Jordan Catchpole) stormed to GOLD with a WORLD RECORD time of 3:40.63. Australia (Ricky Betar, Benjamin James Hance, Ruby Storm, Madeleine McTernan ) took SILVER while Brazil (Gabriel Bandeira, Ana Karolina Soares de Oliveira, Debora Borges Carneiro, Felipe Vila Real) collected BRONZE


The Women's Singles Class 4 will be between Bhavinben Patel (INA) and Ying Zhou (CHN) after they defeated Miao Zhang (CHN) and Xiaodan Gu (CHN) who collected BRONZES.

In the Men's Singles Class 4, Young-Gun Kim (KOR) and Abdullah Ozturk (TUR) advanced to the final after defeating Nesim Turan (TUR) and Maxime Thomas (FRA) who took BRONZES

The Men's Singles Class 9 GOLD was won by Laurens Devos (BEL) with a 3-1 victory over Lin Ma (AUS) who took SILVER while Iurii Nozdrunov (RPC) and Ivan Mai (UKR) collected BRONZES.

In the Women's Singles Classes 1-2, Jing Liu (CHN) took GOLD with a 3-1 win over Su Yeon Seo (KOR) who took SILVER while Catia Cristina da Silva Oliveira (BRA) and Nadezhda Pushpasheva (RPC) collected BRONZES.

The Men's Singles Class 3 GOLD was won by Panfeng Feng (CHN) with a 3-2 success over Thomas Schmidberger (GER) who took SILVER while Jenson van Emburgh (USA) and Xiang Zhai (CHN) collected BRONZES

In the Men's Singles Class 6, Ian Seidenfeld (USA) took GOLD with a 3-0 win over Peter Rosenmeier (DEN) who scooped SILVER while GB's Paul Karabardak and Rungroj Thainyom (THA) took BRONZES

The Women's Singles Class 11 GOLD was won by Elena Prokofeva (RPC) with a 3-1 victory over Lea Ferney (FRA) who took SILVER while Maki Ito (JPN) and Ting Ting Wong (HKG) claimed BRONZES.

Ningning Cao (CHN) and Valentin Baus (GER) advanced to the final of the Men's Singles Class 5 as they defeated Ali Ozturk (TUR) and GB's Jack Hunter Spivey who collected BRONZES

Kelly van Zon (NED) and Viktoriia Safonova (RPC) advanced to the final of the Women's Singles Class 7 after defeating Kubra Korkut (TUR) and Anne Barneoud (FRA) who claimed BRONZES

Mateo Boheas (FRA) and Patryk Chojnowski (POL) advanced to the final of the Men's Singles Class 10 after defeating Filip Radovic (MNE) and David Jacobs (INA) who took BRONZES

In the Women's Singles Class 5, there will be an all-Chinese final as Jiamin Pan and Bian Zhang advanced after defeating Young A Jung (KOR) and Khetam Abu Awad (JOR) who took BRONZES.

The Women's Singles Class 10 final will be between Bruna Costa Alexandre (BRA) and Qian Yang (AUS) after they defeated Shiau Wen Tien (TPE) and Natalia Partyka (POL) who collected BRONZES.

In the Men's Singles Class 8, Viktor Didukh (UKR) and Shuai Zhao (CHN) advanced to the final after defeating Maksym Nikolenko (UKR) and Weinan Peng (CHN) who took BRONZES.

The Men's Singles Class 1 final will be all-Korean after Hyeon Uk Kim and Young Dae Joo defeated Ki Won Nam (KOR) and GB's Tom Matthews who took BRONZES

In the Women's Singles Class 6, Maryna Lytovchenko (UKR) and Mallak Alieva (RPC) advanced to the final after defeating Raisa Chebanika (RPC) and Stephanie Grebe (GER) who collected BRONZES

The Men's Singles Class 11 saw Peter Palos (HUN) and Samuel Philip von Einem (AUS) advance to the final after defeating Florian van Acker (BEL) and Lucas Creange (FRA) who took BRONZES

The Women's Singles Class 9 final will be between Li N Lei (AUS) and Guiyan Xiong (CHN) as they defeated Karolina Pek (POL) and Alexa Szvitacs (HUN) who claimed BRONZES. 

In the Women's Singles Class 3, Juan Xue (CHN) and Alena Kanova (SVK) will meet in the final after defeating Gyu Lee Mi (KOR) and Jiyu Yoon (KOR) who took BRONZES. 

The Men's Singles Class 7 saw GB's Will Bayley and Shuo Yan (CHN) advance to the final after defeating Maksym Chudzicki (POL) and Keli Liao (CHN) who collected BRONZES.

In the Women's Singles Class 8, Wenjuan Huang (CHN) and Jingdian Mao (CHN) advance to the final after defeating Aida Dahlen (NOR) and Thu Kamkasomphu (FRA) who collected BRONZES. 

The Men's Singles Class 2 final will be between Fabien Lamirault (FRA) and Rafal Czuper (POL) after they defeated Jim Cheol Park (KOR) and Soo Yong Cha (KOR) who took BRONZES



The Men's PTS4 GOLD was won by Alexia Hanquinauant (FRA) ahead of Hideki Uda (JPN) who took SILVER while Alejandro Sanchez Palomero (ESP) collected BRONZE.

A USA 1-2 in the Women's PST2 as Allysa Seely won GOLD ahead of Hailey Danz who scooped SILVER while Veronica Yoko Plebani (ITA) collected BRONZE

The Men's PTVI saw Brad Snyder (Guide-Greg Billington) (USA) win GOLD ahead of Hector Catala Laparra (Guide- Gustavo Rodriguez Iglesias) (ESP) who took SILVER while Satoru Yoneoka (Guide- Kohei Tsubaki) (JPN) collected BRONZE. 

In the Women's PTVI, GOLD was won by Susana Rodriguez (Guide- Sara Loehr) (ESP) ahead of Anna Barbaro (Guide-Charlotte Bonin) (ITA) who took SILVER while Annouck Curzillat (Guide- Celine Bousrez) (FRA) claimed BRONZE


The Men's Foil Individual Category A GOLD was won by Gang Sun (CHN) as he defeated Richard Osvath (HUN) who took SILVER while Nikita Nagaev (RPC) collected BRONZE after defeating Matteo Betti (ITA).

In the Men's Foil Individual Category B, Yanke Feng (CHN) overcame team-mate Daoliang Hu who scooped SILVER while GB's Dimitri Coutya took BRONZE after defeating Albert Kamalov (RPC). 

The Women's Foil Individual Category A GOLD was won by Halyan Gu (CHN) as she defeated Natalilia Morkvych (UKR) who took SILVER while Jing Rong (CHN) collected BRONZE by defeating Eva Andrea Hajmasi (HUN).

In the Women's Foil Individual Category B, Beatrice Maria Vio (ITA) won GOLD as she defeated Jingling Zhou (CHN) who scooped SILVER while Ludmila Vasileva (RPC) collected BRONZE after defeating Rong Xiao (CHN). 

A WORLD RECORD time of 58.038 in the Men's B 1000M Time Trial as GB's Neil Fachie (Pilot- Matt Rotherham) won GOLD ahead of team-mate James Ball (Lewis Stewart) who took SILVER while Raphael Beaugillet (FRA) (Francois Pervis) collected BRONZE

Double success for the Fachie family as GB's Lora Fachie (Pilot- Corrine Hall) followed her husband's success with GOLD in the Women's B 3000m Individual Pursuit ahead of Katie-George Dunlevy (IRL) (Eve McCrystal) who scooped SILVER while GB's Sophie Unwin (Jenny Holl) took BRONZE after defeating Grace Hoet (BEL) (Pilot- Anneleen Monsieur).

GOLD for GB (Kadeena Cox, Jaco van Gass, Jody Cundy) in the Mixed C1-5 750m Team Sprint with a WORLD RECORD time of 47.579 as they finished ahead of China (Zhangyu Li, Guoqing Wu, Shanzhang Lai) who took SILVER while Spain (Ricardo Ten Argiles, Pablo Jaromillo Gallardo, Alfonso Cabello Llamas) collected BRONZE after defeating France (Alexandre Leaute, Kevin le Cunff, Dorian Foulon).

The days are becoming busier as today saw 45 medal events spread across seven sports with Athletics and Swimming both with 10+ events.

The Women's Long Jump T11 saw GOLD won by Silvania Costa De Oliveira (BRA) as she outjumped Asila Mirzayorova (UZB) who took SILVER while Yulila Pavlenko (UKR) collected BRONZE

Success continued for Brazil with Yeltsin Jacques (Guides- Laurindo Nunes Neto/Carlos Antonio dos Santos) winning GOLD in the Men's 5000m T11 with Kenya Karasawa (Guides- Hiroaki Mogi/Koji Kobayashi) (JPN) taking SILVER ahead of team-mate Shinya Wada (Guides Kengo Yajima/Takumi Hasebe) who claimed BRONZE

A huge WORLD RECORD OF 10.55m in the Women's Shot Put F41 saw Raoua Tlili (TUN) win GOLD ahead of Mayerti Buitrago Ariza (COL) who sealed SILVER while Antonella Ruiz Diaz (ARG) collected BRONZE

In the Women's Club Throw F32, Roza Kozakowska (POL) won GOLD with a WORLD RECORD throw of 28.74m ahead of Anastasiia Moskalenko (UKR) who sealed SILVER while Mounia Gasmi (ALG) claimed BRONZE and GB's Gemma Prescott finished seventh. 

A WORLD RECORD time of 26.58 in the Women's 200m T37 saw Xioayan Wen (CHN) win GOLD ahead of team-mate Fenfen Jiang who scooped SILVER while Mandy Francois-Elie (FRA) crossed from BRONZE

The Men's 100m T37 saw Nick Mayhugh (USA) win GOLD in a WORLD RECORD time of 10.95 ahead of Andrei Vdovin (RPC) who took SILVER while Saptoyoga Purnomo (INA) collected BRONZE

A Paralympic Record in the Men's 100m T47 as Petrucio Ferreira dos Santos (BRA) won GOLD ahead of Michal Derus (POL) who scooped SILVER while Washington Junior (BRA) claimed BRONZE.

The Men's Shot Put F37 GOLD was won by Albert Khinchagov (RPC) as he outthrew Ahmed Ben Moslah (TUN) who sealed SILVER while Joao Victor Teixeira de Souza Silva (BRA) collected BRONZE

The final Athletics medal event of the day saw a Paralympic Record time of 55.39 as Tomoki Sato (JPN) won GOLD in the Men's 400m T52 ahead of Raymond Martin (USA) who took SILVER and Hirokazu Ueyonabaru (JPN) who crossed for BRONZE.


The Women's C1-3 Time Trial saw a WORLD RECORD time of 46.769 as Amanda Reid (AUS) won GOLD ahead of Aldya Norbruis (NED) who scooped SILVER while Wangwei Qian (CHN) collected BRONZE with a WORLD RECORD for their class.

In the Men's C1-3 Time Trial, all three medallists set a WORLD RECORD in their class with Zhangyu Li (CHN) winning GOLD ahead of Alexandre Leaute (FRA) who sealed SILVER while GB's Jaco van Gass collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD for GB's Kadeena Cox as she retained her title with GOLD in the Women's C4-5 500m Time Trial ahead of Kate O'Brien (CAN) who took SILVER while Caroline Groot (NED) collected BRONZE after setting a new WORLD RECORD in her class. 

The Men's C4 4000m Individual Pursuit GOLD was won by Josef Metelka (SVK) as he overlapped Carol-Eduard Novak (ROU) who took SILVER while Diego German Duenas (COL) collected BRONZE after defeating Ronan Grimes (IRL). 

In the Men's C5 4000m Individual Pursuit, Dorian Foulon (FRA) won GOLD ahead of Alistair Donohoe (AUS) who sealed SILVER while Yehor Dementyev (UKR) collected BRONZE by defeating Kevin le Cunff (FRA). 



The Dressage Individual Test Grade 1 saw Roxanne Trunnell (USA) win GOLD ahead of Rihards Snikus (LAT) who scooped SILVER while Sara Morganti (ITA) collected BRONZE

In the Dressage Individual Test Grade 3, Tobias Thorning Jorgensen (DEN) won GOLD ahead of GB's Natasha Baker who scooped SILVER while Rixt van der Horst (NED) collected BRONZE


The Women's 48kg GOLD was won by Shahana Hajiyeva (AZE) as she defeated Sandrine Martinet (FRA) who took SILVER while BRONZES went to Viktoriia Potapova (RPC) and Yulia Ivanytska (UKR) as they defeated Kai Lin Lee (TPE) and Shizuka Hangai (JPN).

In the Men's 60kg, GOLD was won by Vugar Shirinli (AZE) as he defeated Anuar Sariyev (KAZ) who took SILVER while BRONZES went to Recep Ciftci (TUR) and Alex Bologa (ROU) as they defeated Marcos Dennis Blanco (VEN) and Sherzod Namozov (UZB). 

The Women's 52kg saw Cherine Abdellaoui (ALG) win GOLD as she defeated Priscilla Gagne (CAN) who took SILVER. BRONZES went to Alesia Stepaniuk (RPC) and Nataliya Nikolaychuk (UKR) as they defeated Yui Fujiwara (JPN) and Ramona Brussig (GER). 

In the Men's 66kg, GOLD was won Uchkun Kuranbaev (UZB) as he defeated Sergio Ibanez Banon (ESP) who took SILVER while BRONZES went to Yujiro Seto (JPN) and Namig Abasli (AZE) as they defeated Giorgi Gamjashvili (GEO) and Davyd Khorava (UKR).



The Men's 59kg saw Yongkai Qi (CHN) win GOLD ahead of Sherif Osman (EGY) who took SILVER and Herbert Aceituno (ESA) who collected BRONZE. GB's Ali Jawad finished in sixth. 

In the Women's 50kg, Dandan Hu (CHN) won GOLD ahead of Rehab Ahmed (EGY) who took SILVER while GB's Olivia Broome collected BRONZE

Tokyo Paralympics Day Two

Another packed schedule on Day Two with 30 medal events across five sports with a huge 14 in Swimming. 

Medals


The Women's B 1000m Time Trial saw a Paralympic Record of 1:05.291 as Larissa Klassen (Pilot-Imke Brommer) (NED) won GOLD ahead of GB's Aileen McGlynn OBE (Pilot- Helen Scott) who took SILVER while Griet Hoet (Pilot- Anneleen Monsieur) (BEL) collected BRONZE. GB duo Lora Fachie (Pilot- Corrine Hall) & Sophie Unwin (Pilot-Jenny Holl) finished in fourth and fifth. 

A WORLD RECORD time of 1:01.557 for Alfonso Cabello Llamas (ESP) as he won GOLD in the Men's C4-5 Time Trial ahead of GB's Jody Cundy who took SILVER and became the first athlete to claim a medal in seven consecutive games. BRONZE was collected by Josef Metelka (SVK). 

The Men's C1 3000m Individual Pursuit GOLD was won by Mikhail Astashov (RPC) as he overlapped Tristen Chernove (CAN) who took SILVER while Zhangyu Li (CHN) collected BRONZE after defeating Ricardo Ten Argiles (ESP). 

A WORLD RECORD time of 3:31.478 saw Alexandre Leaute  (FRA) win GOLD in the Men's C2 Individual Pursuit as he defeated Darren Hicks (AUS) who took SILVER. BRONZE was collected by Guihua Liang (CHN) as he defeated Shota Kawamoto (JPN).

A GB 1-2 in the Men's C3 Individual Pursuit as Jaco van Gass took GOLD ahead of Finlay Graham who took SILVER. BRONZE went to David Nicholas (AUS) as he defeated Eduardo Santas Asensio (ESP). 


GOLD for Sir Lee Pearson in the Dressage Individual Test Grade 2 as he finished ahead of Pepo Puch (AUT) who took SILVER while GB debutant Georgia Wilson collected BRONZE

The Dressage Individual Test Grade 4 saw GOLD won by Sanne Voets (NED) ahead of Rodolpho Riskalla (BRA) who took SILVER while Manon Claeys (BEL) claimed BRONZE

In the Dressage Individual Test Grade 5, Michele George (BEL) won GOLD ahead of GB's Sophie Wells who scooped SILVER while Frank Hosmar (NED) collected BRONZE


The Men's 49kg GOLD was won by Omar Sami Hamadeh Qarada (JOR) as he outlifted Cong Le Van (VIE) who took SILVER while Parvin Mammadov (AZE) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD of 108kg as Lingling Guo (CHN) won GOLD in the Women's 41kg ahead of Ni Nengah Widiasih (INA) who took SILVER while Clara Sarahy Fuentes Monasterio (VEN) collected BRONZE. GB's Zoe Newson finished in fourth. 

The Women's 45kg GOLD was won by Latifat Tijani (NGR) as she outlifted Zhe Cui (CHN) who took SILVER while Justyna Kozdryk (POL) collected BRONZE

In the Men's 54kg, David Degtyarev (KAZ) won GOLD as he outlifted Axel Bourlon (FRA) who scooped SILVER while Dimitrios Bakochristos (GRE) claimed BRONZE



The Men's 100m Freestyle S5 saw GOLD won by Francesco Bocciardo (ITA) as he finished ahead of Lichao Wang (CHN) who took SILVER while Daniel de Faria Dias (BRA) collected BRONZE

GB's Tully Kearney won GOLD in the Women's 100m Freestyle S5 ahead of Li Zhang (CHN) who took SILVER while Monica Boggioni (ITA) collected BRONZE. GB's Suzanna Hext finished in fourth. 

The Men's 100m Freestyle S4 saw GOLD won by Takayuki Suzuki (JPN) as he finished ahead of Luigi Beggiato (ITA) who scooped SILVER and Roman Zhadanov (RPC) who claimed BRONZE.

In the Men's 200m Individual Medley SM6, Nelson Crispin Corzo (COL) won GOLD ahead of Andrei Granichka (RPC) who took SILVER while Hongguang Jia (CHN) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD for GB's Maisie Summers-Newton as she stormed to GOLD in the Women's 200m Individual Medley SM6. Yelyazveta Mereshko (UKR) scooped SILVER while Verena Scott (GER) collected BRONZE and GB duo Ellie Simmonds and Grace Harvey finished in fifth and sixth.

GOLD for Rogier Dorsman (NED) in the Men's 400m Freestyle S11 as he finished ahead of Uchu Tomita (JPN) who took SILVER while Dongdong Hua (CHN) collected BRONZE.

The Women's 400m Freestyle S11 saw a WORLD RECORD time of 4:54.49 as Anastasia Pagonis (USA) eased to GOLD ahead of Liesette Bruinsma (NED) who scooped SILVER while Liwen Cai (CHN) claimed BRONZE.

GOLD for Stefano Raimondi (ITA) in the Men's 100m Breaststroke as he finished ahead of RPC duo Artem Isaev who took SILVER and Dmitrii Bartasinskii who collected BRONZE

The Women's Breaststroke SB9 saw a Netherlands 1-2 as Chantalle Zijderveld won GOLD and Lisa Kruger scooped SILVER while Keira Stephens (AUS) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 56.36 for Ihar Boki (BLR) as he stormed to GOLD in the Men's 100m Backstroke S13 ahead of Nicolas Guy Turbide (CAN) who took SILVER while Vladimir Sotnikov (RPC) claimed BRONZE

Gia Pergolini (USA) won GOLD in the Women's 100m Backstroke S13 in a WORLD RECORD time of 1:04.64 as she finished ahead of Carlotta Gilli (ITA) who took SILVER and Katja Dedekind (AUS) who claimed BRONZE

GOLD in the Men's 100m Breaststroke SB8 for Andrei Kalina (RPC) as he finished ahead of Oscar Salguero Galisteo (ESP) who took SILVER while Guanglong Yang (CHN) collected BRONZE

The Women's 100m Breaststroke SB8 GOLD was won by Ellen Keane (IRL) as she finished ahead of Sophie Pascoe (NZL) who took SILVER while Adelina Razetdinova (RPC) collected BRONZE

The final event of the day in the pool saw a WORLD RECORD time of 2:15.49 in the Mixed 4x50m Relay 20 Points as China (Li Zhang, Tao Zheng,Weiyi Yuan, Dong Lu) stormed to GOLD ahead of Italy (Giulia Terzi, Arjola Trimi, Luigi Beggiato, Antonio Fantin) who took SILVER. Brazil (Patricia Pereira dos Santos,Daniel de Faria Dias, Joana Maria da Silva Neves Euzebio, Talsson Henrique Glock) collected BRONZE while GB (Tully Kearney, Lyndon Longhorne, Ellie Challis, Will Perry) finished in eighth. 


The Men's Epee Individual Category A GOLD was won by GB's Piers Gulliver after a 15-9 win over Maxim Shaburov (RPC) who took SILVER while BRONZE was claimed by Jianquan Tian (CHN) as he defeated team-mate Gang Sun, 15-13.

In the Men's Epee Individual Category B, Alexander Kuzykov (RPC) won GOLD with a 15-8 win over Jovane Guissone (BRA) who took SILVER while GB's Dimitri Coutya claimed BRONZE with a 15-11 victory over Andrei Pranevich (BLR). 

The Women's Epee Individual Category A GOLD was won by Amarilla Veres (HUN) as she won 15-12 over Jing Rong (CHN) who took SILVER while Jing Bian (CHN) won 6-5 over Iuliia Maya (RPC).

In the Women's Epee Individual Category B, Shumei Tan (CHN) won GOLD after the 3-0 defeat of Viktoria Boykova (RPC) who took SILVER while Saysunee Jana (THA) collected BRONZE after a 15-8 win over Jingling Zhou (CHN). 


Tokyo Paralympics Day One

The opening day of action from the Paralympics saw 24 medal events across three sports with a whopping 16 in Swimming.

The first medals of the games came in the Women's C1-3 Individual Pursuit as Paige Greco (AUS) stormed to GOLD as she defeated Xiaomeu Wang (CHN) who took SILVER. BRONZE went to Denise Schindler (GER) after she defeated Clara Brown (USA). 

In the Women's C4 3000m Individual Pursuit, GOLD was won by Emily Petricola (AUS) as she defeated Shawn Morelli (USA) who took SILVER. BRONZE was collected by Keely Shaw (CAN) as she defeated Meg Lemon (AUS). 

A superb GB 1-2 in the Women's C5 3000m Individual Pursuit as Dame Sarah Storey stormed to her 15th Paralympic GOLD as she overlapped Crystal Lane-Wright who took SILVER. BRONZE went to Marie Patouillet (FRA) as she defeated Nicole Murray (NZL). 

The Men's B 4000M Individual Pursuit saw GOLD won by Tristan Bangma (Guide- Patrick Bos) (NED) as he overlapped GB's Stephen Bate (Guide- Adam Duggleby) who took SILVER. BRONZE was collected by Marcin Polak (Guide- Michael Ladosz) (POL) as he defeated Alexandre Loveras (Guide- Corentin Ermenault) (FRA). 


The Men's 400m Freestyle S9 saw GOLD won by William Martin (AUS) with a Paralympic Record of 4:10.25 ahead of Ugo Didier (FRA) who took SILVER while Alexander Tuckfield (AUS) collected BRONZE

In the Women's 400m Freestyle S9, Lakeisha Patterson (AUS) won GOLD ahead of Zsofia Konkoly (HUN) who scooped SILVER and GB's Toni Shaw who claimed BRONZE

GOLD for Iyad Shalabi (ISR) in the Men's Backstroke S1 as he finished ahead of Anton Kol (UKR) who scooped SILVER while Francesco Bettella (ITA) took BRONZE

The Men's 100m Backstroke S2 saw GOLD won by Alberto Abarza (CHI) as he finished ahead of Gabriel Geraldo dos Santos Araujo (BRA) who took SILVER while Vladimir Danilenko (RPC) collected BRONZE.

Xiu Pin Yip (SGP) stormed to GOLD in the Women's 100m Backstroke S2 as she finished ahead of Miyuki Yamada (JPN) who scooped SILVER while Fabiola Ramirez (MEX) collected BRONZE

A Paralympic Record time of 54.76 for Gabriel Bandeira (BRA) as he won GOLD in the Men's 100m Butterfly S14 ahead of GB's Reece Dunn who took SILVER while Benjamin Hance (AUS) collected BRONZE

A WORLD RECORD time of 1:03.59 for Valeriia Shabalina (RPC) as she won GOLD in the Women's 100m Butterfly S14 ahead of Australian duo Paige Leonhardt who took SILVER and Ruby Storm who claimed BRONZE. GB duo Louise Fiddes & Jessica-Jane Applegate finished in fifth and sixth. 

GOLD and a WORLD RECORD time of 46.49 for Roman Zhdanov (RPC) in the Men's 50m Breaststroke SB3 as he finished ahead of Miguel Luque (SPA) who scooped SILVER while Takayuki Suzuki (JPN) collected BRONZE.

Yelyzaveta Mereshko (UKR) won GOLD in the Women's 50m Freestyle S6 ahead of Elisabeth Marks (USA) who took SILVER while Anna Hontar (UKR) collected BRONZE

The Men's 50m Freestyle S10 GOLD was won by Rowan Crothers (AUS) as he finished ahead of Maksym Krypak (UKR) who scooped SILVER and Phelipe Melo Rodrigues (BRA) who claimed BRONZE

Anastasiia Gontar (RPC) won GOLD in the Women's 50m Freestyle ahead of Chantalle Zijderveld (NED) who took SILVER while Aurelie Rivard (CAN) collected BRONZE. GB's Zara Mullooly finished in seventh. 

A Paralympic Record time of 53.80 saw Ihar Boki (BLR) win GOLD in the Men's 100m Butterfly S13 ahead of Oleksii Virchenko (UKR) who claimed SILVER and Islam Aslanov (UZB) who took BRONZE.

An Italian 1-2 in the Women's 100m Butterfly S13 with Carlotta Gilli winning GOLD and Alessia Berra scooping SILVER while Daria Pikalova (RPC) collected BRONZE.

The Men's 200m Freestyle GOLD was won by Francesco Bocciardo (ITA) with a Paralympic Record time of 2:26.76 as he finished ahead of Antoni Ponce Bertran (ESP) who took SILVER while Daniel de Faria Dias (BRA) claimed BRONZE

GOLD for Li Zhang (CHN) in the Women's 200m Freestyle S5 as she finished ahead of GB's Tully Kearney who scooped SILVER with Monica Boggioni (ITA) collected BRONZE

The Men's 100m Freestyle S8 GOLD was won by Ben Popham (AUS) with Andrei Nikolaev (RPC) taking SILVER and Dimosthenis Michalentzakis (GRE) claiming BRONZE. 



The Men's Sabre Individual Category A GOLD went to Hao Li (CHN) as he won 15-12 over Artem Manko (UKR) who took SILVER. BRONZE was collected by Jianquan Tian (CHN) as he won 15-14 over Andril Demchuk (UKR). 

GOLD for Yanke Feng (CHN) in the Men's Sabre Individual Category B after a 15-11 win over Adrian Castro (POL) who took SILVER. BRONZE was collected by Panaglotis Triantafyllou (GRE) as he won 15-6 over Maxime Valet (FRA).

The Women's Sabre Individual Category A saw Jing Bian (CHN) take GOLD after a 15-7 win over Nino Tibliashvili (GEO) who took SILVER. BRONZE was claimed by Yevhenlla Breus (UKR) after a 15-10 win over Eva Andrea Hajmasi (HUN). 

In the Women's Sabre Individual Category B, GOLD for Shumei Tan (CHN) after a 15-7 win over Olena Fedota (UKR) who took SILVER while Rong Xiao (CHN) collected BRONZE after Irma Khetsuriani (GEO) lost out 15-6.
