Tokyo 2020 Day 14

Day 14 sees a a total of 26 medal events across a variety of 11 sports with the first medals of the games for some sports. 


Medals


The Men's 50km Race Walk GOLD was won by Dawid Tomala (POL) as he finished ahead of Johnathan Hilbert (GER) who took SILVER while Evan Dunfee (CAN) collected BRONZE

In the Women's 20km Race Walk, Antonella Palimisano (ITA) won GOLD ahead of Sandra Lorena Arenas (COL) who took SILVER and Hong Liu (CHN) who collected BRONZE.

The Women's Javelin GOLD went to Shuying Liu (CHN) ahead of Maria Andrejczyk (POL) who took SILVER while Kelsey-Lee Barber (AUS) collected BRONZE

The Men's 5000m GOLD was won by Joshua Cheptegei (UGA) as he finished ahead of Mohammed Ahmed (CAN) who took SILVER while Paul Chelimo (USA) claimed BRONZE. GB's Andrew Butchart finished in 11th. 

In the Women's 400m, Shaunae Miller-UIBO (BAH) won GOLD ahead of Marileidy Paulino (DOM) who took SILVER while Allyson Felix (USA) collected BRONZE

An Olympic Record of 3:53.11 for Faith Kipyegon (KEN) as she took GOLD in the Women's 1500m ahead of a superb run from GB's Laura Muir who scooped SILVER while BRONZE went to Sifan Hassan (NED). 

The Women's 4x100m Relay saw Jamaica (Briana Williams, Elaine Herah-Thompson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Shericka Jackson) win GOLD ahead of USA (Javianne Oliver, Teahna Daniels, Jenna Prandini, Gabrielle Thomas) who took SILVER. The GB quartet of Asha Phillip, Imani Lansiquot, Dina Asher-Smith & Daryll Neita collected BRONZE

In the Men's 4x100m, Italy (Lorenzo Patta, Lamont Marcell Jacobs,Eseosa Desalu and Flippo Tortu) won GOLD ahead of GB'S (Chijindu Ujah, Zharnet Hughes, Richard Kilty and Nathaneel Mitchell-Blake) who took SILVER while Canada (Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake, Brandon Rodney and Andre De Grasse) collected BRONZE


The Women's GOLD was won by the USA pair of April Ross/Alix Klineman as they secured a 2-0 win over Mariafe Artacho Del Solar/Tatiqua Clancy (AUS) who took SILVER. BRONZE went to Anouk Verge-Depre/Joana Heidrich (SUI) as they won 2-0 over Tina Graudina/Anastasija Kravcenoka (LAT).



The Women's Middle (69-75kg) saw GB's Lauren Price and Qian Li (CHN) advance to the final as they defeated Nouchka Fontijn (NED) and Zenfira Magomedalieva (ROC) who collected BRONZES

In the Men's Light (57-63kg), Andy Cruz (CUB) and Keyshawn Davis (USA) advanced to the final as they defeated Hovhanned Bachkov (ARM) and Harry Garside (AUS) who took BRONZES

The Men's Heavy (81-91kg) GOLD was won by Julio La Crux (CUB) as he defeated Muslim Gadzhimagomedov (ROC) who took SILVER


GOLD for GB pair Katie Archibald and Laura Kenny in the Women's Madison, the win means Laura becomes GB's most decorated female Olympian and also the first to win three GOLDS in three consecutive Games. SILVER was scooped by Denmark (Amalie Dideriksen/Julie Leth) while ROC (Gulnaz Khatuntseva/Mariia Novolodskaia) collected BRONZE.

In the Men's Sprint, double joy for Netherlands as Harrie Lavreysen took GOLD ahead of Jeffrey Hoogland who scooped SILVER while GB's Jack Carlin claimed BRONZE

The Men's BRONZE went to Mexico as they won 3-1 over Japan.

The Women's GOLD saw Canada win 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Sweden who took SILVER.


The Women's GOLD was won by Netherlands as they sealed a 3-1 win over Argentina who scooped SILVER. BRONZE went to GB as they edged a 4-3 win over India



The Men's Kata GOLD was won by Ryo Kiyuna (JPN) as he finished ahead of Damian Quintero (ESP) who took SILVER while Ali Sofuoglu (TUR) and Ariel Torres Guiterrez (USA) collected BRONZE.

In the Women's Kumite 61kg, GOLD went to Jovana Prekovic (SRB) as she defeated Xiaoyan Yin (CHN) who took SILVER. BRONZES went to Giana Lotfy (EGY) and Merve Coban (TUR). 

The Men's Kumite -75kg GOLD was won by Luigi Busa (ITA) as he overcame Rafael Aghayev (AZE) who took SILVER while BRONZES went to Stanislav Horuna (UKR) and Karoly Gabor Harspataki (HUN).


GOLD for GB's Kate French in the Women's Individual as she finished ahead of Laura Asadauskite (LTU) who took SILVER while Sarolta Kovacs (HUN) claimed BRONZE. GB's Joanna Muir finished in 14th. 



The Women's Combined GOLD was won by Janja Garnbret (SLO) ahead of a double for Japan as Miho Nonaka took SILVER and Akiyo Noguchi collected BRONZE.


The Men's Team GOLD was won by China as they secured a 3-0 win over Germany who took SILVER. BRONZE was collected by Japan as they won 3-1 against Republic of Korea. 



The Men's Freestyle 74kg GOLD was won by Zaurbek Sidakov (ROC) as he defeated Mahamed Khabib (BLR) who took SILVER. BRONZES were collected by Kyle Douglas Dake (USA) and Bekzod Abdurakhmonov (UZB) as they defeated Frank Chamizo Marquez (ITA) and Daniyar Kaisanov (KAZ).

In the Men's Freestyle 125kg, Gable Dan Steveson (USA) won GOLD by defeating Geno Petriashvili (GEO) who took SILVER while BRONZES were collected by Taha Akgul (TUR) and Amir Hossein Zare (IRI) as they overcame Lkhagvagerel Munkhtur (MGL) and Zhiwei Deng (CHN)

The Women's Freestyle 53kg GOLD was won by Mayu Mukaida (JPN) as she defeated Qianyu Pang (CHN) who took SILVER. BRONZES went to Bolotuya Ochir (MGL) and Vanesa Kaladzinskaya (BLR) as they defeated Emilliene Joseph Essombe Tiako (CMR) and Jaccara Gwenisha Winchester (USA).
