Tokyo 2020 Day 15

 Day 15 saw the penultimate day of medal events with a huge total of 34 across 19 sports. 


Medals 


The Team Free Routine GOLD was won by ROC as they scored higher than China who took SILVER while Ukraine collected the BRONZE




Double joy for Kenya in the Women's Marathon as Peres Jepchirchir won GOLD ahead of Brigid Kosgei who scooped SILVER while Molly Seidel (USA) collected BRONZE. GB's Stephanie Davis, Stephanie Twell and Jess Piasecki finished in 39th, 68th and 71st.

The Women's High Jump GOLD was won by Mariya Lasitskene (ROC) as she out-jumped Nicola McDermott (AUS) who scooped SILVER and Yaroslava Mahuchikh (UKR) claimed BRONZE. GB's Morgan Lake had to withdraw due to injury. 

In the Women's 10000m, Sifan Hassan (NED) completed a unique treble with the GOLD as she finished ahead of Kalkidan Gezahegne (BRN) who took SILVER while Letsenbet Gidey (ETH) who collected BRONZE. GB'S Eilish McColgan and Jessica Judd finished ninth and 17th.

The Men's Javelin Throw GOLD was won by Neeraj Chopra (IND), the first ever athletics medal for the subcontinent as he out-threw Czech duo Jakub Vadlejch who took SILVER and Viteslav Vesely who collected BRONZE

In the Men's 1500m, an Olympic Record time of 3:28.32 for Jakob Ingebrigtsen (NOR) as he finished ahead of Timothy Cheruiyot (KEN) who scooped SILVER and GB's Josh Kerr who collected BRONZE. Fellow GB duo Jake Heyward and Jake Wightman finished in ninth and tenth.

GOLD in the Women's 4x400m Relay for USA (Sydney McLaughlin, Allyson Felix, Dalilah Muhammad and Athing Mu) ahead of Poland (Natalia Kaczmarek, Iga Baumgart-Witan, Malgorzata Holub-Kowalik and Justyna Swiety-Ersetic) who took SILVER. BRONZE went to Jamaica (Roneisha McGregor, Janieve Russell, Shericka Jackson and Candice McLeod). GB's Ama Pipi, Jodie Williams, Emily Diamond and Nicole Yeargin) finished in fifth. 

The Men's 4x400m Relay GOLD was won by USA (Michael Cherry, Michael Norman, Bryce Deadmon and Rai Benjamin) ahead of Netherlands (Liemarvin Bonevacia, Terrence Agard, Tony Van Diepen and Ramsey Angela) who took SILVER while Botswana (Isaaz Makwala, Baboloki Thebe, Zibane Ngozi and Bayapo Ndori) collected BRONZE


GOLD for Japan as they defeated USA 2-0 who took SILVER while Dominican Republic claimed BRONZE after a 10-6 win against Republic of Korea. 




The Men's GOLD was won by USA after an 87-82 victory over France who took SILVER while Australia collected BRONZE after winning 107-93 against Slovenia.

The Women's BRONZE went to France as they won 91-76 against Serbia



The Men's GOLD was won by Norway (Anders Berntsen Mol/Christian Sandlie Sorum) after a 2-0 set win over ROC (Vlacheslav Krasnilnikov/Oleg Stoyanovskiy) who took SILVER while Qatar (Cherif Younousse/Ahmed Tijan) collected BRONZE after a 2-0 set win over Latvia (Martins Plavins/Edgars Tocs). 


GOLD for GB's Galal Yafai in the Men's Fly (48-52kg) as he defeated Carlo Paalam who took SILVER.

The Women's Fly (48-51kg) GOLD was won by Stoyka Zhelyazkova (BUL) as she defeated Buse Naz Cakiroglu (TUR) who scooped SILVER

In the Men's Middle (69-75kg), GOLD was won by Hebert Sousa (BRA) as he defeated Oleksandr Khyzhniak (UKR) who took SILVER

The Women's Welter (64-69kg) saw Busenaz Surmeneli (TUR) win GOLD after defeating Hong Gu (CHN) who scooped SILVER


The Women's Canoe Double 500m GOLD was won by China (Shixiao Xu/Mengya Sun) ahead of Ukraine (Liudmyla Luzan/Anastasiia Chetverikova) who scooped SILVER while Canada (Laurence Vincent-Lapointe/Katie Vincent) collected BRONZE

In the Men's Canoe Single 1000m, GOLD was won by Isaquias Queiroz Dos Santos (BRA) ahead of Hao Liu (CHN) who scooped SILVER while Serghei Tarnovschi (MDA) claimed BRONZE

The Women's Kayak Four 500m GOLD was won by Hungary (Danuta Kozak/Tamara Csipes/Anna Karasz/Dora Bodonyi) as they finished ahead of Belarus (Marhartya Makhneva/Nadzeya Papok/Volha Khudzenka/Maryna Litvinchuk) who took SILVER while Poland (Karolina Naja/Anna Pulawska/Justyna Iskrzycka/Helena Wisiniewska) collected BRONZE

In the Men's Kayak Four 500m, Germany (Max Rendschmidt/Ronald Rauhe/Tom Liebscher/Max Lemke) won GOLD ahead of Spain (Saul Craviotto/Marcus Walz/Carlos Arevalo/Rodrigo Germade) who scooped SILVER while Slovakia (Samuel Balaz/Denis Mysak/Erik Vlcek/Adam Botek) collected BRONZE


The Men's Madison GOLD was won by Denmark (Lasse Norman Hansen/Michael Morkov) ahead of GB's Ethan Hayter and Matthew Walls who took SILVER while France (Benjamin Thomas/Donovan Grondin) collected BRONZE

Double joy for China in the Men's 10m Platform as Yuan Cao won GOLD ahead of Jian Yang who scooped SILVER while GB's Tom Daley collected BRONZE



GOLD for Sweden in the Team Jumping ahead of USA who took SILVER while Belgium collected BRONZE




The Men's tournament saw Brazil win GOLD with a 2-1 extra time victory over Spain who took SILVER



The Women's Individual Stroke Play saw GOLD won by Nelly Korda (USA) ahead of Mone Inami (JPN) who scooped SILVER while Lydia Ko (NZL) collected BRONZE. GB's Mel Reid finished in 55th. 



The Men's GOLD was won by France as they sealed a 25-23 victory over Denmark who took SILVER while Spain collected BRONZE with a win over Egypt.



The Women's Kumite +61kg GOLD was won by Feryal Abdelaziz (EGY) as she defeated Iryna Zaretska (AZE) who took SILVER. BRONZES went to Sofya Berultseva (KAZ) and Li Gong (CHN). 

In the Men's Kumite +75kg, Sajad Ganjzadeh (IRI) won GOLD as he defeated Tareg Hamedi (KSA) who took SILVER. BRONZES went to Ugur Atkas (TUR) and Ryutaro Araga (JPN).


After winning the Women's Individual, GB completed the double as Joe Choong took GOLD in the Men's Individual ahead of Ahmed Elgendy (EGY) who took SILVER while Woongtae Jun (KOR) collected BRONZE.


The Women's All-Around GOLD was won by Linoy Ashram (ISR) as she out scored Dina Averina (ROC) who took SILVER while Alina Harnasko (BLR) collected BRONZE


The Men's GOLD was won by France as they sealed a 3-2 set win over ROC who took SILVER. BRONZE went to Argentina after they won 3-2 against Brazil




The Women's GOLD saw a comfortable 14-5 win for USA over Spain who scooped SILVER. BRONZE went to Hungary after a 11-9 win over ROC




The Women's Freestyle 50kg saw Yul Susaki (JPN) win GOLD after defeating Yanan Sun (CHN) who scooped SILVER. BRONZES went to Sarah Ann Hildebrandt (USA) and Mariya Stadnik (AZE) as they defeated Oksana Livach (UKR) and Namuuntsetseg Tsogt Ochir (MGL). 

In the Men's Freestyle 97kg, Abdulrashid Sadulaev (ROC) won GOLD after defeating Kyle Frederick Snyder (USA) who took SILVER. BRONZES went to Abraham De Jesus Conyedo Ruano (ITA) and Reineris Salas Perez (CUB) as they overcame Sharif Sharifov (AZE) and Suleyman Karadeniz (TUR). 

The Men's 65kg GOLD was won by Takuto Otoguro (JPN) as he defeated Haji Aliyev (AZE) who scooped SILVER. BRONZES went to Bajrang Bajrang (IND) and Gadzhimurad Rashidov (ROC) as they overcame Daulet Niyazbekov (KAZ) and Iszmail Muszukajev (HUN).
